What We Offer
The BZ team provides a holistic approach through counseling, consulting, training and encouragement to missionaries and Christian workers in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Retreats:
Singles, couples, and families can come away to our counseling retreats at one of our three locations – Samobor, Croatia, Millstatt, Austria, and Grand Junction, Colorado. These retreats serve as an opportunity to heal, gain perspective, and receive input and counsel from fellow missionary counselors in a confidential, safe atmosphere. Medical personnel are also available for consultation.
On-Site Counseling and Consultation:
The BZ team also provides counseling, consultation and training on the field to teams and team leaders dealing with crisis, trauma, stress, burnout, and relational issues. We are able to assess the needs of the team and provide an individually tailored program to help the team and leader heal and improve the work environment. Staff will meet with the team collectively and with individuals throughout the session.
Seminars and Training:
We provide seminars on the following:
- Improving communication
- Conflict management and team building
- Leadership development
- Functioning on a multi-cultural team
- Anger and forgiveness
- Addictions
- Stress and burnout
- Perceptions and expectations
- Crisis and trauma
- Marriage
- Parenting
- Transition back to the USA
We also provide debriefing and career counseling for workers in transition or those who are experiencing trauma and crisis; additionally, we are available to counsel with care-givers or member care personnel following a crisis intervention. Dr. Carl Krause is available for career testing.
Educational Consultation:
Dr. Jayne Cuidon is available to provide educational evaluation for missionary children ages 4-18. This battery includes the Kaufman Assessment Battery for children, the Woodcock–Johnson Tests of Achievement, the Conner’s Behavioral Scale, and other tests to help determine learning disabilities, emotional disorders, and possible ADHD. If married, both spouses are required to attend. Singles of course are welcome.
